The NUMiNOUS First Friday Party at Tattooed Mom, was a great success! I had a blast meeting new people, talking about the magazine, and just enjoying myself. NUMiNOUS actually sold out of all the Street Art issues we stocked for sale, but don't fret! You can still buy them online. I've included a couple of photos from the event, including my friend Jess in a metal headpiece by Ellen Durkan, and artist YOMI doing an install.
After the excitement of Friday night, I was ready for a relaxing weekend. Saturday morning, I had a little me time, and got my hair cut and colored by my good friend, Alex, at Cut Hair Salon. He's so meticulous and it really speaks to my perfectionist self. After I got styled, I walked over to Headhouse Square, for Philly Veg Fest. I have never really walked down Pine Street east of Broad, but it was a pleasant stroll. I took in the old architecture, including that of the Old Pine Street Church. I was in awe of the giant Corinthian columns adorning the entrance and stood for a moment just taking them in. While at Veg Fest, I came across Crisp & Co, maker of artisanal pickles. After sampling the Pint Pickles, I had to have them! For these tasty treats, they collaborated with Victory Brewing Co. to make flavorful pickles that pack a little punch from a piri piri pepper. I am not ashamed to say, I think I've already eaten half of the jar. While at the fest, I also made sure to pick up a copy of the Veg Dining Guide.
Sunday, I just hung around the neighborhood and tried to do some unpacking. Most of what's left is just hanging up pictures, and trying to find a place for everything. I decided to tackle the kitchen wall today, the picture I included sits above a breakfast bar in the corner of our kitchen. I like the way it turned out, but I feel like I need some more stuff to fill it!
Overall, I had a pretty relaxing weekend, but It never seems like it's long enough.
