Website Design

Mantua Greenway

The Mantua Greenway is a resident-driven beautification project, which aims to create a safe and beautiful corridor that reflects the values, culture, and people of the West Philadelphia community of Mantua. The proposed Greenway will follow Mantua Avenue from 34th Street to the 40th Street Bridge and continue along 40th Street to Fairmount Park.

The scope of work I was responsible for on this project included graphic design showing responsive and interactive views. I set up a design language and graphic library to be used throughout the website including, font stylings, button styles, and link styles. I also was tasked with populating the website during the development stage, and tested the site for ease of use and literacy.

The logo design was a major influence on the interactive elements on the homepage. As you can see in the mobile version above, the shapes, colors, and overlap seen in the logo, are reflected in the banner image on this landing page. This features a clickable banner which conveys information through text, as well as giving you a visual rendering of the project.

Waning Crescent Massage

Branding, Web Design and Development: Lauren Ladner

I was approached by Waning Crescent Massage to create a website for their business, as well as develop branding including logo, fonts, and color palette. Symbolically, the waning crescent phase of the moon, represents a time for rest, healing, surrender, and self-care. Massage is an offering which provides the client with some time for recuperation. The logo incorporates those symbols in a clean and gentle way and lets the viewer know they are in capable healing hands. The website design reflects this. With muted black and white, giving a clean and relaxing look to the site. An earthy gold, further grounds the viewer and provides a spot of contrast.

The main challenge with this website was the ability to integrate the scheduling software, as well as future edits being accessible to the owner. The “Book Now” button, found as a call to action in the footer of most pages, takes you to the schedule, and provides ease of use. The design was created for Wordpress, providing easy customization and hosting. Contact forms going right to the Waning Crescent Massage inbox.

We were able to include film photography of the massage services. Incorporating them into the headers of the pages, and give a much more warm and tactile feel to the design. Contact
